Reba Cast: Where are They Now?

Reba McEntire might be coming to ABC this fall with “Malibu Country,” but she’s also making her debut on CMT, which is still available through DISH Network. The popular country music network is bringing backMcEntire’s first sitcom, “Reba,” on August 1. Let’s take a look at what the cast members are doing now.

Reba McEntire (Reba Hart): McEntire originally made her name as a country music star, with hits including “For My Broken Heart,” “Is There Life Out There” and “If You See Him/If You See Her.” McEntire’s acting career began in the 1990 film “Tremors” and after “Reba” she continued with her acting career with roles in “Better with You” (2010), “Working Class” (2011), and her newest show, “Malibu Country,” which debuts this fall.

JoAnna García-Swisher (Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery): JoAnnaGarcía-Swisherhas starred in various television shows and TV movies after “Reba,” including “Welcome to the Captain” (2008), “A Very Merry Daughter of the Bride” (2008), “Privileged” (2009), “Gossip Girl” (2009), “Better with You” (2010-2011), and “Royal Pains” (2012). García-Swisher was also a part of the pilot for the new fall NBC series, “Animal Practice.” Outside of the acting world, García-Swisher was tapped as the celebrity ambassador for The Mary Kay Inspiring Stories collaborative film project in 2011.

Steve Howey (Van Montgomery): You might have seen Steve Howey in the critically-acclaimed Showtime series “Shameless” (2011-2012). Before “Shameless,” Howey played in the 2011 films “Something Borrowed,” “Losing Control” and 2009’s “Bride Wars” as well as television shows like “Psych” (2010), “Ctrl” (2009) and “Surviving Suburbia” (2009).

Christopher Rich (Brock Hart): Christopher Rich was in several major shows during the ‘00s, including “Boston Legal” (2005-2008), “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (2009), “Desperate Housewives” (2009-2010) and “Melissa & Joey” (2010-2011). Rich has also made inroads with young television fans with his roles in Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up!” (2011). He has most recently starred opposite Fran Drescher in TV Land’s “Happily Divorced” (2012).

Melissa Peterman (Barbra Jean Booker Hart): Melissa Peterman also had a role on “Surviving Suburbia” in 2009. She worked with CMT before as the lead on the network’s first scripted series, “Working Class” (2011). Peterman also had roles on “Pretty the Series” (2010-2012) and “Baby Daddy” (2012).

Mitch Holleman (Jake Hart): Rich is not the only “Reba” star to make an appearance on “Shake It Up.” Mitch Holleman also appeared on the show in 2010. Before that, he had an uncredited role in the hit 2009 comedy, “The Hangover.” Holleman might be young, but he already has an impressive resume, including “Everybody Loves Raymond” (2001), “Avatar: The Last Airbender” (2005) and “Bubble Boy” (2001).

Scarlett Pomers (Kyra Hart): Scarlett Pomers has stepped out of the acting arena after the end of “Reba.” Instead, she turned to music; her debut EP, “Insane,” was released in 2010. Pomers also dedicates herself to eating disorder awareness; in 2006, after overcoming her battle with anorexia, she became the ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association, and she also created the Arch-Angels Fund, an organization that aims to raise money for people who suffer from eating disorders but can not pay for treatment.

I never knew “Reba” existed at the time it was first on. I checked it out last year, and love it. I showed tv tapes to my husband and he enjoys it too. They’re ALL my favorites.
