A lot of the country music we hear on the radio is full of swooning and romantic stories, but not all of this is lost at the end of the song. We see so many cute couples on television and we thought we’d spotlight a few of our favorites.
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert
This country music power couple wed in 2011 in front of a star-studded audience, which included the likes of Reba McEntire, Kelly Clarkson, Martina McBride, and Trace Adkins. Their cute factor comes from their humble personalities and traditional values. Shelton, the 36-year-old singer and “The Voice” coach, asked the 28-year-old “Nashville Star” finalist’s father for her hand in marriage before proposing. Lambert, who wore her mother’s wedding dress on her big day, told “USA Weekend,” that “Our marriage works because we have other stuff going on…. I’ve learned that if you’re someone’s world or someone’s your world, eventually it will explode.”
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann
After watching her televised troubles with “Big Poppa” on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” fans really rooted for Kim Zolciak when she landed footballer and all-around good guy, Kroy Biermann. The 34-year-old “Don’t be Tardy for the Party” singer wed the 27-year-old Atlanta Falcons defenseman on 11/11/11 in a lavish ceremony that was featured on their spinoff show, “Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding.” Adding to the cuteness, Kroy also presented Kim’s daughters from previous relationships, Brielle and Ariana, with rings at the ceremony to show his commitment to them as a father.
Suzy Preston and Matt Hoover
TV audiences have followed this couple every step of the way through their relationship, from the first time they met in 2005 as contestants on “The Biggest Loser,” to Hoover’s televised proposal on “The Today Show” one year later. The reality TV couple, who are both 35-years old, have since added two sons to the mix, and they’re determined to give their kids a healthier start than they had when it comes to eating habits. They both keep their home free from junk food and sweets, and prepare organic meals for the boys at home.
Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher
Before she married 32-year-old hockey player, Mike Fisher, Carrie Underwood was often seen as the underdog in love. The 29-year-old “American Idol” winner and frequent country music award show host had a very public breakup from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo in 2007, especially after he moved on so quickly with pop star, Jessica Simpson. Underwood’s fans were happy to see her find true love with Mike Fisher and the couple recently told Oprah that faith plays an important part in their marriage. Fisher says, “that became an instant connection… we’re very similar – we both grew up in Christian families.”
Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks
Country songstress and southern cook, Trisha Yearwood, 47, and her 50-year-old country king, Garth Brooks knew each other for years through the Nashville circuit before they fell in love and eventually married in 2005. Yearwood’s show, “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen” is returning to the Food Network for its second season, hot on the heels of her two cookbooks – which have both gone to number one the “New York Times” bestseller lists. The couple’s down-home normalcy is part of what makes them so cute – they love to spend their spare time cooking and tending to their vegetable and herb garden while also raising Garth’s daughters he shares with his first wife, Sandy.
Melissa Rycroft and Tye Strickland
After 29-year-old former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, Melissa Rycroft, was dumped after her time on “The Bachelorette,” she went on to find professional success on “Dancing With the Stars” – not to mention finding true love with hometown hottie, Tye Strickland. The couple are now navigating marriage and parenthood on their new show, “Melissa & Tye,” and despite reality TV’s track record for killing couples, Rycroft is determined not to become another statistic. She told “People” magazine, “We have a lot of stuff that we decide, ‘Okay, let’s not talk about this publicly’…. They’re not issues, they’re not problems. They’re just things we don’t want to throw out there and open up for public scrutiny and public debate.”
